Hatcher Pass

Hatcher Pass Recreation Area is a beautiful place to visit any season. We've been sledding, hiking, and soon cross-country skiing. One funny thing about Hatcher Pass is that I'm continually bringing the saturation down in editing. Especially in early summer when everything is cartoonishly bright. Yes, the real photos look fake! We didn't do anything special this trip so I encourage you to click here for our other trips to Hatcher Pass to see what else there is to do!

Oh and the actual pass is, um, impassable during the winter (opens again when the snow is gone - usually around 4th of July) but you can still get all the way to lower Independence Mine parking lot ($5 fee) from the Palmer side.
