We visited this gorgeous glacier when it was 1 degree F out. Even at that face-numbing temperature we still had a lot of fun. We'd like to go back when it's a little warmer and explore longer. It was a little tough to find the only entrance to the glacier - it's behind the gift shop and down the hill. After you pay (there was a discount for Alaskan residents when we went) it's a two mile drive to park next to the glacier. Then there's a short walk to the ice. Ice grippers and poles were helpful but not necessary to look around like we did and there's plenty to see and do without going too far onto the glacier itself. I might like to try a guided tour that takes you farther in sometime!
